Position Overview:
This position is responsible for key accounting and reporting activities for month-end close and analysis of accounts. Other duties include assistance in the reporting and analysis of the Company’s financial statements. This position works closely with the global finance team, senior management and other financial analysts.

**Responsibilities**:
- Prepare corporate (including financing structures) consolidated statements and support the preparation of the global consolidation process. This would include monthly standard accounting entries as required for month-end close, includes maintenance of prepaid amortization schedule and accrued liabilities. Complete account reconciliations for key corporate balance sheet accounts.
- Review Corporate SG&A expenses and prepare monthly and quarterly SG&A variance reports to provide variance analysis to comparative prior year and forecast time periods. Present quarterly corporate results variance analysis to the management team for the quarterly corporate close meeting.
- Ownership of Cumulative Translation Adjustment (CTA) and Accumulated Other Comprehensive Income (AOCI) movements - includes preparation, management and analyses of reconciliations and related schedules. Possess a solid understanding of foreign currency translation and accounting of OCI items for global consolidated multi-currency entities. Review current process and recommend improvements in reporting and presentation. Includes preparation to meet external reporting requirements. Ability to provide management with high level analysis of drivers of movement.
- Preparation of the quarterly corporate cash balance analysis and review file to support the quarterly corporate/FINCA cash reclass entry.
- Assist in various external reporting requirements (includes preparation of certain footnotes). Note: responsibility of the quarterly footnotes is shared with team members.
- Preparation of monthly and quarterly account reconciliations for key corporate accounts (e.g. accrued liabilities, prepaids, investment accounts, weighted average outstanding shares, etc)
- Preparation and monitoring of intercompany balances outstanding from operations on a monthly and quarterly basis.
- Statistics Canada reporting
- Assist with external audit, providing support for external auditor queries where appropriate.
Qualifications:
- An accounting diploma from an accredited educational facility (a professional accounting designation (CGA, CMA, CA) is required along with a minimum of 3 years experience in finance/accounting.
- Must possess strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices and systems
- Strong understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards and possess a good understanding in accounting principles for consolidations.
- Experience in performing global consolidations of multi-national, multi-currency reporting entities is preferred.
- Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills along with a well-developed analytical ability; ability to communicate in Spanish would be considered an asset
- Demonstrated skill to manage time effectively to meet challenging deadlines for multiple deliverables
- Must be a team player with the ability and desire to train and provide assistance to others
- Must be proficient in Excel and familiar with other aspects of the MS Office package; knowledge of Finning systems and operations would be preferred
- Knowledge of the SAP BPC (Business Planning and Consolidations) reporting system and ability to make process improvements would be considered an asset
- Ability to make sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems.
