- **Microbiology / Spoilage Detection**
- Microbiology of Final Product & in-process product;
- PCR of Final Product & in-process product;
- Maintain yeast bank;
- Yeast Wrangler Program;
- Sampling for micro/PCR;
- Organize equipment calibrations, sourcing new equipment and vendor requests;
- Assist in accreditations and audits;
- Lead special projects as they come up, for example, implementing an electronic quality management system;
- Maintain a clean and safe work area according to established policies and procedures.
- Keep the lab compliant to required standards;
- Research & Development for new products;
- Identify, negotiate, implement and maintain research and collaborations with research organizations, partners, clients, vendors and other third-party collaborators;
- Help to manage day to day lab operations, such as:

- Ordering lab supplies & yeast;
- Training new staff;
- Organize quality management in the laboratory;
- Follow up on quality metrics;
- Investigate & addressed complaint;
- Sensory
- Sensory Panel management;
- Sensory Training;
- PCR Equipment Maintenance
- **Wastewater**
- Sampling;
- Delivery to external laboratory;
- Reporting to City of Vancouver;
- Wastewater pH probe & Flow meter Calibration;
- Vacuum truck booking & assistance;
- Ordering and maintaining all wastewater equipment;
- Setting up dosing systems
- **Collaborate with HR for the following**:- Addressing Team member’s performance or behavior;
- Disciplinary related matters;
- **Communication**-
- Maintaining open & positive relationships with ALL departments;
- Open communication with Owners and ALL departments;
- Responsible to report all quality issues or deficiencies to the Owners;
- **Team Management**:

- Providing hands-on training with team member when required;
- Dealing with any issues amongst or between team members that may arise;
- Mentoring team members to ensure they are successful in their respective roles;
- Being available to work on different shift/days when the need arises.
- Perform all other duties as required or assigned.

**Qualifications**
- 3+ years of experience working in Quality required;
- Demonstrated previous Management or Supervisory experience required;
- Demonstrate strong communication skills;
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, but love collaborating within a team;
- Ability to work well under pressure and tight deadlines;
- May be required to work different hours or weekends;
- Proficiency with MS Office (Excel and Word);
