Groundside Student
**Job Title**: Groundside Student
**Reports to**: Foreperson Groundside Maintenance
**Term Position**: May 6, 2023 - August 30, 2024
**Closing Date**: April 16, 2024

The Opportunity
Winnipeg Airports Authority has an opportunity for a Groundside Maintenance Student within our Groundside Maintenance Department. The department works include maintenance and repair of all groundside land under the supervision of the Groundside Foreman.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Assist in the maintenance and repair of all groundside land, including but not limited to: weed, prune, and trim trees and plants, and cut grass using tractor mower;
- Remove litter and garbage to maintain cleanliness of Groundside Campus;
- Assist in painting lines on various Groundside paths; and
- Other related duties as required.

**Selection Criteria include**:

- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution;
- Effective communications skills;
- Ability to work in a team environment;
- Must be able to multitask and prioritize workload;
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s license;
- Must have excellent customer service skills;
- Previous landscape maintenance experience considered an asset; and
- Preference will be given to students enrolled in an environmental design or landscape architecture focused program; and

Condition of employment is the ability to obtain and maintain an Airport Restricted Area Identification Card.
