Payroll Technician

**Location**: Laval (4204, boul. Industriel, Laval)

**Hybrid mode**: 3 days at the office and 2 days remotely

**Type of employment**: Permanent, Full Time (37,5 hours)

**THE ROLE**

Reporting to the General Accounting Manager, within the Global Shared Services team, the Accounting Analyst will provide various period-end and quarter-end analyses.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Manage the complete payroll process for the province of Ontario and Western Canada (Approx. 800 employees - English required)
- Assist in the preparation of the weekly Quebec payroll
- Open and distribute mail
- Verify and issue Records of Employment. (+200/week)
- Help with Emploi Québec files - Contrat d'intégrations au travail.
- Complete declarations and requests for information
- Main contact for general payroll information line and respond to payroll inquiries from managers and employees.
- Keep abreast of any changes in legislation or provisions regarding labour laws and internal policies affecting payroll across Canada.
- Perform all other payroll-related administrative tasks.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

**Education**
- Experience with Workday and PeopleSoft an asset
- ACP accreditation.

**Experience**:

- Minimum of three (3) years' experience in a similar role with high-volume payroll processing, in a company with 3,000 or more employees.
- Demonstrated experience as a payroll technician

**Knowledge and skills**:

- Excellent knowledge of MS Excel;
- Excellent stress and priority management skills.
- Be meticulous yet fast, detail-oriented and consistent.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Demonstrate versatility, autonomy and confidentiality in handling files.
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
- Comfortable with repetitive tasks

**Language skills**:

- Bilingualism is mandatory (French and English) in both written and spoken languages, as the person will be required to serve English-speaking regions.
