**Our Company**:
The Soap Dispensary and Kitchen Staples opened in 2011 to tackle the issue of packaging waste and helped usher in the consumer Zero Waste movement in Vancouver. As a refill shop and specialty grocer, we offer about 800 bulk products to help our community divert waste and save resources. We partner with many local businesses, contribute to the local circular economy and inspire many individuals and businesses to reduce their environmental footprint. Our success is measured in our day-to-day, in each container refilled and our team has a direct impact on these successes.

**Job Summary**:
We are looking for Inventory team members to join our team The primary goal of this role is to assist with inventory-related tasks for our shop. This includes keeping our retail shelves well stocked, receiving incoming shipments, packaging bulk products, handling and properly storing bulk and packaged inventory, and maintaining a clean and organized stockroom.

Preference for full time availability, ideally working Sunday to Thursday from 8 AM - 4 PM.

**Main Duties & Responsibilities**:
**General Inventory**:

- Restock retail shelves daily
- Maintain fully stocked bulk containers throughout each shift
- Physically check, receive and redistribute incoming deliveries from suppliers and our warehouse according to company procedures and policies
- Perform rolling inventory counts as needed including weighing and counting stock
- Oversee accurate and current price tags and store signage
- Support retail staff with customer requests or inquiries
- Be available on the retail floor to provide direct customer service and cashiering support to the retail team during busy times
- Prepare products for stocking on retail shelves by assembling parts, removing tags and stickers, etc
- Weigh, package and label bulk products as needed
- Redistribute and decant products from and to various size containers
- Mix and scent products according to company recipes and requirements
- Organize inventory in the stockroom
- Maintain a clean and organized workplace, storage area and auxiliary storage space at all times.
- May include washing and cleaning duties as needed
- Follow safe work practices
- Preference will be given to applicants who have a clean driver's license and are able to intermittently operate a small cargo van for store transfers from our warehouse and do some local driving when our driver is unavailable.

**Working Conditions**:A small retail store environment and offsite warehouse; coworkers and customers who share zero waste and environmental values.

**Employment Requirements**

**Knowledge**:
Familiar with basic material handling safety working procedures
Familiar with Food Safe practices
Basic arithmetic
Proficient in reading and writing English
Zero waste product knowledge an asset
Driver's license an asset

**Skills and Personal Qualities Needed**:
Organized and systematic with information / inventory
Detail oriented and observant
Able to work without supervision
Entrepreneurial, self-starter
Physically capable of heavy lifting (up to 50lb)
Enjoys physical work

**Education/Certifications/Licenses**:
Clean criminal record
Secondary school completion an asset
Driver’s License and clean driving abstract an asset
Legally permitted to work in Canada

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
