Roblin Park Children’s Programs is hiring a School Age/Nursery School Team Lead to join our amazing team of educators. We are located in beautiful Charleswood offering nursery school, preschool, kinder and school age programs inside of Roblin Park Community Centre.
This position is responsible for the following:
- Ensuring schedules are followed and adjusted for team success. Including but not limited to daily program needs and responsibilities outlined by shift, weekly monthly and annual duties as assigned. Tracking attendance of the children along with projected numbers for Inservice days and school breaks. Making adjustments and enhancement to support individual development within a group setting. Adjusting learning environments and available materials with program plans that reflect the current interests of the children.
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment for children, staff, and parents both inside and outside, on the grounds and while off site.
- Ensuring that program ratios are always maintained, creating safety plans with your team to support high risk activities including risky play overall inside, outside and while off site. Ensuring room awareness is maintained and that safety measures are discussed before implementing program plans and ongoing.
- Developing, implementing, and supporting your team bringing new programming ideas to life. Leading your team with positivity and breaking down goals to find realistic solutions.
- Encouraging and supporting professional growth of our educators with ongoing guiding and mentoring while taking advantage of learning opportunities in real time as they present themselves. Supporting others in meeting individual goals. Attending leadership professional development opportunities to support your own growth and development, seeking guidance from the Executive Director and Assistant Director during management meetings and daily check ins as needed.
- Working in partnership with the Executive Director/Assistant Director to meet centre goals and the overall vision for the centre as created by our team. Attending meetings as scheduled and ensure both the Executive Director and Assistant Director up to date on your program and team overall.
- Balancing administrative duties as assigned with meeting program specific needs
- Greeting and communicating with children, families, professionals, and community members on a daily basis.
- Leading weekly team meetings and holding daily team huddles sharing essential information and helping to motivate each other at pertinent times in the day.
- To ensure ongoing clear communication within your team, other programs and the office in person, using the communication book and over 2-way radios. Regular communication with the office to ensure the Executive Director and Assistant Director is up to date on the program and your team’s needs, goals and achievements.

Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years experience in a leadership role within a child care setting
- Classified as an ECE II or III within the province of Manitoba
- Clear criminal and child abuse record checks no less than 3 months old
- First Aid/CPR Level C
- Must be able to work all shifts between the hours of 7:30am and 5:30pm
