We currently have an opportunity in our QA department for a self-motivated, results driven individual familiar with BRC ver 9. QA technician will be responsible for leading the annual audit and ensuring company meets all food safety and quality standards, regulatory requirements, and customer requirements.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Perform process checks throughout the entire production process including pre-operational checks, sanitation verification, and label checks
- Basic understanding of food science, GMP and HACCP
- Perform in house swabbing for sanitation checks
- Testing of in-process finished products and raw materials
- Familiar in performing tests and or calibrations
- Maintain and record equipment calibrations
- Provide accurate and timely results
- Implement, monitor, and enforce GMPs
- Utilizing a proactive approach to problem solving
- Receive and document testing results from external laboratory
- Maintain accurate and organized records of QA activities
- Investigate and troubleshoot any quality/production issues and provide recommendation/solutions to management
- Calibrate test equipment.
- BRC and CFIA Audit

**Requirements**:

- A post-secondary education (degree and/or diploma) in a Science related program (Chemistry, Food Science, Microbiology etc.) is required.
- Sound knowledge of good laboratory practices
- Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills including grammar and composition
- Ability to work well with others & independently
- Proven time management skills and a strong attention to detail
- Works well under pressure
- Experience in the food industry is an asset
- Must be able to work most shifts if needed.
- Global Standard for Food Safety Issue 9: Sites Training

**Salary**: $21.96-$26.22 per hour

Schedule:

- Every Weekend
- Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Surrey, BC V3Z 1C3: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
