Geotechnical Supervisor

Reporting to the Engineer Superintendent, the Senior Engineer Supervisor, Geotechnical is responsible for managing all mining geotechnical functions for both operations and related projects.

To be successful in this role we are looking for someone who is a motivated self-starter, organized, and able to prioritize contending demands. Someone with strong interpersonal and communication skills that can lead a team and collaborate with operations.

**Must relocate to Sparwood, BC area.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
- Design and implement programs (both technical and training) to identify, eliminate, or mitigate geotechnical hazards, close gaps, and improve designs
- Coordinate site geotechnical programs, including monitoring systems, providing support for analysis and design, and coordinate with Mine Operations and Processing groups
- Coordinate and review work by external geotechnical consultants
- Review short and long range mine plans for geotechnical hazards, data gaps, and design deficiencies
- Supervise, train, and mentor geotechnical and tailings engineering personnel

**Skills & Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Geological, Geotechnical, or Civil Engineering
- Registered as a P.Eng. with Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC), or eligible to transfer P.Eng status to EGBC
- Minimum seven years’ relevant geotechnical experience, including a geotechnical role at an open pit mining operation
- Solid understanding of industry standard geotechnical software and the Microsoft Office Suite®
- Experience in geotechnical data analysis, site investigations, project evaluation, and management

**Additional Details**:

- Lead a team of 7 junior-intermediate Geotechnical engineers and technologists
- Work a 9 hour shift, Monday - Friday, every second Friday offOccasional OnCall

**Salary**: $125,000.00-$150,000.00 per year
