Health Care Aide

The Resident Attendant/Health Care Aide shall provide personal care and other services to residents in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Home.
**Employment Terms**:
1. Must have the ability to commute to work (6197 Perth St, Richmond, ON K0A 2Z0)
2. Must have a Canadian work permit
3. Medication Administration Certificate (Asset)
4. Working every second weekend
5. Pay is based on experience
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Provides services and interacts with residents and resident family members in a professional manner
- Complete all assigned paperwork
- Participates as a member of the care team and provides support to the other members of the Services team
- help serving meals to the resident
- help with some laundry and cleaning
- Do activities with the resident
- Observes and adheres to all policies and procedures, work standards and safety regulations
- Assists and attends to care needs of the residents as required
- Maintains work and storage areas in a clean, safe and sanitary manner
- Aware of employees and supervisor’s responsibilities and follows all health and safety policies and procedures
- Works safely to reduce the risk of injury to self, co-workers, and residents
- Is alert to, remedies, and promptly reports all actual or potentially hazardous situations
- Other related duties as assigned
**Education/Experience**:
- Previous experience in providing personal care
- Preferred post-secondary education in related care fields of PSW/HCA/ DSW certification
- Must be able to read and communicate effectively
- Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions
- Demonstrated empathy and understanding of the needs of seniors
- Effective interpersonal relationship and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to organize work and work under strict time constraints
- Must have a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness
- Must be able to operate related equipment
- Must be able to respond to emergency situations
**Job Type**: Part-time
Pay: From $16.55 per hour
