Maintenance Technician

To support us on our journey, the Building Services department is looking for** **a** Maintenance Technician **to join the team at Mount Sinai Hospital.

In compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations, the principal responsibilities of the Maintenance Technician include:

- Maintain, repair, monitor and operate boilers, chillers, cooling towers, emergency diesel generator and all auxiliary equipment in accordance with governing standards, codes and regulations
- Ensure there is an adequate supply of steam and chilled water for HVAC, sterilization, domestic hot water
- Assist with other duties related to the position as assigned
- Job Requirements- Successful completion of a high school diploma
- Ontario Third or Fourth Class Stationary Engineer's Certificate or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years’ of recent experience on repair, maintenance and operation of motor controls and steam plant equipment
- Minimum 5 years’ of recent mechanical, electrical and plumbing experience
- Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical and HVAC schematic drawings
- Strong mechanical, electrical and plumbing background - Demonstrated computer skills an asset
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and read using English in order to effectively perform essential requirements of this position
- Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history
