**Countdown to Kindergarten Summer Program Facilitators**

The River East Transcona School Division is anticipating there will be several full-time positions available for those interested in employment from May to August 2023. An eligibility list is being established and final decisions will be made pending funding approval.

Working as a member of a team, the facilitators will implement a summer Countdown to Kindergarten program by conducting visits to families with children about to enter the school system. These positions would be of interest to university or college students in education, early childhood, human ecology, social work or nursing.

**Countdown to Kindergarten Facilitators **will be responsible for:

- Scheduling and facilitating onsite visits with preschool families to help them prepare for kindergarten.

Facilitators will teach children about print, rhyming, beginning sounds and counting/early math.
- Planning, scheduling and facilitating Kinder Camps for children entering kindergarten. Facilitators will be responsible for leading songs and rhymes, story time, phonological activities, movement games and art experiences.
- Planning and facilitation of Countdown to Kindergarten special events.
- Creating homemade literacy and numeracy themed games/activities.

These positions are supported through Green Team funding. Please indicate if you are between 18 and 29 years of age and a resident of Winnipeg to establish eligibility. For funding purposes, applicants are also encouraged to declare if they are Indigenous, visible minority youth or youth with a disability.

External applicants must supply a Criminal Record Search and a cleared Child Abuse Registry check upon hire.

Rate of pay: starting at $14.15 per hour (plus vacation pay)
