**Summary**

Reporting to the Assay Lab Supervisor, the Assay Lab Technician will play a vital role in ensuring accurate assay reporting necessary for the Mine and Mill operations at Mt. Milligan. Responsibilities include conducting day-to-day analysis, contributing to the development of methods and procedures, and performing sample collection and onsite laboratory work while maintaining a focus on quality and safety standards.

**Responsibilities**
- Ensure adherence to site policies, and laboratory procedures
- Collect & prepare samples for analysis
- Data analysis and validation
- Take ownership of instrument calibration and maintenance activities, conducting regular checks and adjustments to uphold equipment performance and accuracy.
- Reporting accurate assay results in a timely manner
- Ensuring that all employees work safely and in accordance with applicable legislation, company policy, standards, and procedures
- Actively identify and report hazards or incidents promptly, aligning with Mt. Milligan's reporting procedures to facilitate timely resolution and preventive action.
- Maintain exemplary standards of housekeeping within the work area, promoting cleanliness, organization, and safety for all personnel.
- Performs any other responsibilities related to the Assay Lab Technician role as required or as assigned by the department head.

**Education & Experience**
- Minimum of 1-3 years experience in a similar position, with a strong mineral processing background (preferably gold or copper)
- A strong scientific knowledge is required. Bachelors Degree in Science (Chemistry) or similar will be highly regarded.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in wet assaying and/or fire assaying
- Computer skills, including Microsoft Office software and LIMS (or similar)
- Previous experience in instrumentation including but not limited to AAS, ICP, C&S analyzer and Hg analyzer.
- Required to meet pre-employment testing requirements.

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**
- Demonstrated ability to work safely
- A team player with integrity, focus, and a good work ethic
- Proven ability to troubleshoot, prioritize tasks, and develop timely and cost-effective solutions
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Physically fit and able to lift up to 50lbs of weight as part of the daily routine
- Valid Canadian Driver’s License

**Working Conditions**
- The role is located at the Mount Milligan Mine, which is approximately 155 kilometers northwest of Prince George, British Columbia.
- Work involves a camp-based role at the Mount Milligan Mine site with a set work schedule on a 7x7 schedule, 12 hours per day, days/nights
- Occasional exposure to hazardous environments with the requirement of wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Mount Milligan is a safety-sensitive environment and promotes a drug & alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a ZERO - TOLERANCE policy, with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs/paraphernalia on site
- Bus transportation to and from site is provided free of charge from several locations within the region
