**About the Opportunity**:
Nova Scotia Health is seeking two (2) full-time adult gastroenterologists to provide inpatient consultative services at Dartmouth General Hospital (DGH) and community outpatient consultative services. Gastroenterologists interested in providing general gastroenterology care and also those with additional skillsets including therapeutic endoscopy, nutrition, motility, hepatology and inflammatory bowel disease management are encouraged to apply.

Dartmouth General Hospital has tremendous local support from the community, including the support of the productive DGH Foundation, committed to ensuring that its valued healthcare workers have the tools they need to provide excellent patient care. Gastroenterologists will share endoscopy time, including involvement in the provincial colon cancer screening program for screening credentialed endoscopists.

The outpatient gastroenterology catchment area includes referrals from Dartmouth and surrounding communities. Community specialists have autonomous outpatient practices according to the schedule and location of their choice. Remuneration is fee-for-service as per the Physician Services Master Agreement of Nova Scotia. For those interested in providing ICU care, remuneration for ICU service coverage is via an Alternate Payment Plan.

**Responsibilities**:
DGH gastroenterologists are responsible to both the Central Zone Chiefs (Department of Medicine +/- Critical Care and Division of Gastroenterology) and DGH Site Leadership (Internal Medicine +/- Critical Care Site Chiefs and Medical Site Lead) for their professional responsibilities and quality of practice and will operate within the Medical Staff Bylaws of Nova Scotia Health.

**Qualifications**:

- Eligible to take the Fellowship Exam in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology and be licensed with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia
- Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) is required.
