**REPORTS TO**:The Community Research Manager. Will also work closely with Atanniuvik’s Regional Research Manager, Inuit Research Advisor and Community Review Committees.
**LOCATION**:Any Nunavik village 1 per coast - Remote work - Willing to travel to Nunavik communities and elsewhere in Canada
**RESPONSIBILITIES** - Coastal Liaison Officers
Establishment Phase: To 2025
- Support Atanniuvik's establishment activities according to the Implementation Plan,
guided by the Community Research Manager, the Regional Research Manager, and the
Executive Director.
- Ensuring communication and raising awareness of Atanniuvik in Nunavik
communities through presentations and different media.
- Raising awareness about Atanniuvik within the research communities.
- Participating in the establishment of Atanniuvik’s Regional Review Committees
(RRC) and Community review committees (CRC);
- In collaboration with the Community Research Manager : recruiting and training
Community Review Committee members;
- Collaboratively planning, collecting, documenting, and communicating research
priorities of each community in Nunavik.
April 2025 onwards:
- Supporting the Community Review Committees (CRCs) (e.g. organizing meetings, notetaking,
communication of outcomes)
- Supporting the community in developing the process for overseeing research.
- Help community researchers with logistics (e.g. connect them with services, Inuit
collaborators, etc).
- Create awareness among Nunavimmiut for research opportunities and partnerships
- Participate in the collection, documentation and communication of communities’
research priorities.
- Promote Atanniuvik and its goals among both Nunavik and research communities.
- Communicate research plans, objectives, and timelines to the communities, board of
directors (BOD), stakeholders, and partners.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Ability to speak Inuktitut and speak and write in English and/or French
- Good computer skills in a Microsoft environment
- Some knowledge of or experience with research in Nunavik (e.g., has been consulted
about research, has had research-related employment, participated in research,
community member affected by research)
- Experience in the preparation of documents
- Strong communication skills
- Willing to travel to Nunavik and Canada
- Conscientious, reliable and able to work well without close supervision
- Sound decision-making skills
- Good planning, organizing and follow-up skills
- High level of professionalism with good interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Relevant work experience or High school and/or College diploma
