**Robotics/Control Systems Lead Engineer**

Our never-before-seen welding cobots require customization and R&D. We are looking for a Robotics and Control Systems Lead Engineer to join our growing team and support the development of our cobots.

**Responsibilities**
- Developing control system designs following systems engineering methodologies
- Leading a small team of 2-4 control systems engineers
- Estimating, planning and executing projects
- Troubleshooting electrical/control system issues
- Providing accurate documentation including bills of materials, engineering change orders, test validation reports, root cause analysis, FMEA, and production checklists
- Working with customers, project managers, designers, toolmakers and electricians to solve problems
- Adhering to all health and safety rules and procedures

**Qualifications and Experience**
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Controls Engineering
- TUV certified
- Minimum of 8 years experience post graduation/qualification
- Experience managing other engineers
- Experience with PLC programming (ie. ladder logic, structured text, state diagram)
- Expertise with safety PLCs, safety standards, and risk assessments
- Strong knowledge of control theory, feedback control, data filtering, and different control strategies such as PID, and MPC
- Experience with different communication protocols such as EtherCAT, Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP, CANopen, Devicenet, UDP, etc
- Experience in motion control, servos, VFDs, encoders
- Experience with Systems Engineering and/or Project Management
- Experience troubleshooting and point-to-point testing electrical systems
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills

**Additional Preferred Experience**
- Experience with Omron PLCs is preferred but not required
- Experience in robotic design is preferred but not required
- Experience in C/C++ programming language is preferred but not required
- Experience in Linux operating systems is preferred but not
- Registration as an EIT or PEng through EGBC is preferred but not required
- Experience with Solidworks-Electrical or equivalent is preferred but not required
- Experience with troubleshooting of panels (< 600VAC) is preferred but not required
- Experience with welding systems is preferred but not required
- Experience working with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software platforms is preferred but not required
