Effective Immediately until the return of the incumbent

13.5 hours per week

**Schedule**: 8AM-4PM Saturdays + 9:30AM-4PM Sundays

Salary starts at $23.81 at Step 1

**Summary of Duties**:
**Elementary**:
Reporting to the Senior Site Custodian, the afternoon shift Custodian is responsible for evening site safety/security as well as the performance of a variety of cleaning and minor maintenance tasks, in and around the assigned facility, in accordance with established procedures.

**Required Qualifications and Experience**:
Grade 12 Graduation

Building Service Worker Certificate

Valid BC Driver’s License

Fire Safety Course

Self-starter with ability to organize daily tasks and work independently and as a member of a team

Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions

Good interpersonal and communication (oral) skills

Physical ability to perform the assigned duties (including climbing ladders and scaffolds)

OR an equivalent combination of training and experience

**Desirable Qualifications and Experience**:
Certification as Building Service Worker (Division I, III, IV) by Canadian Building Servicing Association

Previous experience in the maintenance of commercial or school buildings

Building Service Management Course

Training in building trades
