**About CAO**:
The Canadian Arabic Orchestra is a professional charitable organization dedicated to connecting audiences with classical Arabic music while celebrating the freedom and diversity of Canada’s cultural landscape. The repertoire covers all parts of the Arab world and spans a time that goes back to early Andalusia - sometimes with a Western Classical and Jazz twist. We help Canadians get in touch with the cultural roots of Arabic music.

**Position**: Grant Writer

**Responsibilities**:

- Implement CAO Grant Strategy tasks to support operational and project requirements of the organization
- Conduct new prospect research, develop grant proposals, and present to Project Manager
- Gather the necessary documentation and supporting materials for grants
- Write and submit grants in a timely manner
- Develop and maintain relationships with granting bodies including governmental, public, foundational, and private institutions
- Follow up with granting bodies as needed
- Manage reporting requirements for various granting bodies

**Minimum Requirements**:

- Proficiency in the English Language
- Able to thrive under deadline pressure.
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and fundraising databases.
- Ability to present information concisely and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work.
- Ability to be a team player and to work independently.

**Anticipated time demands**: This is a contract position, self-directed, workload varies based on project timelines.

**Compensation**: varies depending on experience.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 20 per week

**Salary**: $20.00 per hour
