Whitewater River Guide

**Responsibilities**:

- Act as a guide of jet-boat tours on the Niagara River
- Narrate the history of the Niagara River using microphone equipment
- Deliver the pre-trip guest safety orientation - speaking in front of over 100 guests
- Safely load and unload passengers onto boats; physical assistance is required
- Assist Captain with daily mechanical maintenance and duties as requested; bail water from airtight holding containers
- Assist with daily cleaning of vessels and river gear
- Handing out of passenger gear to guests
- General tidiness and cleaning of change rooms, grounds, parking lot, buildings, power-wash decking, garbage removal
- Recording of pre-defined video clips on the tour using a GoPro Hero camera
- Passenger first aid
- First Aid and CPR certifications are preferred
- (2+ years) Customer service or guest-facing experience
- All ages welcome, 18+
- Fluency in other languages is also an asset

**The ability to work in both Canada and the USA considered an asset

Most of our positions are seasonal, beginning in late April-May and finishing around Halloween. But our staff love it so much, they come back every summer

Whirlpool Jet Boat Tours has been giving passengers a taste of adventure on the white water of the Niagara River since 1992. Passengers experience a thrilling and educational one-hour guided tour, where they can take in the awe-inspiring scenery of the Niagara Gorge, feel the rush of the Class 5 Devil’s Hole rapids and marvel at the power of the Niagara Whirlpool. The tour company’s fleet of custom-built jet boats depart from locations on the Canadian and American sides of the Niagara River, including Queenston, ON and Lewiston, NY.

**Experience**:

- customer service: 2 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- First Aid and CPR certification (preferred)
