**Accountabilities**:
- Must ensure that guests feel welcome, comfortable, and well attended at all times.
- Assist in setting up (tables, buffet, health breaks) of a banquet, serving meeting/conference meals or breaks, while maintaining high standards of service and quality product for the guests.
**Education & Experience**:
- High School diploma and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
- Responsible beverage certification preferred.
**Tools & Equipment**:
- Point of sale systems, calculator, vacuum, hot plates, coffee machines, ice machines juice machines, wine opener, chaffers.
**Physical Requirements**:
- Long hours sometimes required
- Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
- Able to lift trays of meals and dirty dishes.
**Mental Requirements**:
- Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
- Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
- Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.
- Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by co-workers and guests.
- Must have the ability to assimilate complex information, data, etc. from sources and consider, adjust, or modify to meet the constraints of the particular need.
- Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data, and basic arithmetic functions.
**Other Abilities, Skills, Knowledge**:
- Good wine knowledge helpful.
- Knowledge of local liquor laws and sanitation policies required.
- Knowledge of Banquet** **protocol and various services helpful.
***Essential**:
- Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service oriented manner in accordance with hotel standards.
- Maintain regular attendance in compliance with The Pines Resort standards, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper business attire and nametag when working.
- Comply at all times with The Pines Resort standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
- Complete all side work and cleaning duties as described in the SOP’s
- Knowledge of banquet menus, but mainly be able to understand and carry out the details on a Banquet Event Order (BEO)
- Set tables for banquet function and direct staff in this set up.
- Serve guest following rules of etiquette and property standards.
- Serve wine.
- Brew and serve coffee and tea.
- Clear tables of dirty dishes.
- Deliver dirty dishes to kitchen.
- Knowledge of hotel and Town facilities.
- To attend all training sessions and meetings.
- Be a team player
- Maintain work ethics and be accountable.
- Keep banquet area and work stations clean at all times
- Help clear tables when guests have completed their meals as well as after leaving their tables.
- Assist with setting up of receptions, Scallop 101, wine and hors d’oeuvre service
- Other duties as required.
