**Position Summary**:
Reporting to the Manager, Commercial and Marketing, the Environmental Credit Trader is responsible for implementation, delivery, and monetization of NWR’s emission trading program. Unlocking new market opportunities through analyzing and understanding the emission trading markets. This role will develop the emission trading desk, building, and managing a portfolio of clients in the emission trading markets through local, national, and international product trading opportunities.

**Responsibilities**:

- Understand, evaluate, and assess the emission markets; Provincial, Federal. Advise Corporate TIER compliance strategy;
- Understand, evaluate and assess the low carbon fuel standards; Federal and Provincial. Advise corporate CFR compliance strategy and diesel trading strategy;
- Monetize stream of AB GHG Offset credits and CFR Credits from current commercial arrangements;
- Monitor the development in the emission markets, identifying and investigating area of opportunity to develop new products/projects;
- Assemble project/analysis documents that clearly illustrate results and conclusions that incorporate recommendations;
- Establish external network of industry counterparts;
- Provide backup trading to crude oil and products desks as required;
- All other duties as assigned.

**Requirements**:

- This role is a full-time role located in the Calgary head office;
- Understands, creates and maintains a visible commitment to process and personal safety, as well as the safety of others; adheres to NWR’s Core Competencies to drive results and culture;
- Post-secondary degree in Commerce, Engineering or Environmental Studies;
- More than eight years related working experience in commodity markets; analysis and economic models;
- Environmental experience considered an asset;
- Demonstrated understanding of emissions regulations and markets;
- Solid experience in report building and visualization tools; Power BI, excel;
- Skilled in economics and analytical reasoning;
- Strong verbal communication and presentation skills;
- Strong negotiation, facilitation, conflict resolution and analytical skills.
