**THE ROLE**

We are seeking a _highly dedicated and professional _**Manager of Health Services **to join our team** **The Manager of Health Services is responsible for overseeing and coordinating health services within the community. The primary focus of the role is to provide leadership, education, and support to the team of Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) and Health care aids (HCAs) while ensuring the provision of high-quality healthcare services to the FMFN community members. This is a full-time position reporting directly to the Director, Health and based in Fort McKay, AB.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:_
- Provide strong leadership and guidance to the team of supervising nurses, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
- Set clear expectations for performance, conduct regular performance evaluations, and provide constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and staff to ensure effective teamwork and communication.
- Develop and implement educational programs for the nursing team to enhance their skills and knowledge, aligning with community health needs and best practices.
- Develop onboarding packages for all new healthcare staff.
- Facilitate ongoing training sessions, workshops, and continuing education opportunities for nurses to maintain their competence and stay updated with healthcare advancements.
- Oversee the delivery of healthcare services by the Doctor and nurses in the Health Center, ensuring that care is provided in accordance with established protocols, standards, and cultural sensitivity.
- Monitor and assess the quality of healthcare services provided by nurses, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with relevant healthcare regulations, standards, and policies, maintaining the highest level of patient safety and quality of care.
- Build positive relationships with community members, elders, and other stakeholders to understand their healthcare needs and concerns.
- Collaborate with the Director to develop healthcare initiatives that address the specific needs of the FMFN community residents.
- Manage scheduling, staffing, and resource allocation to ensure optimal coverage and efficient operations of the health services department.
- Maintain accurate records, documentation, and reports related to patient care, staffing, and training activities.
- Demonstrate a deep understanding and appreciation for the cultural and traditional values of the FMFN community, ensuring that healthcare services are provided in a culturally sensitive manner.
- Other related duties as assigned.

**KEY REQUIREMENTS**
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field is required. A Master’s degree is an asset.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
- A minimum of 5-7 years of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) is essential.
- 3-5 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role is an asset.
- Demonstrated experience in healthcare education and training is an asset.
- Experience advocating for healthcare needs and building strong relationships within the community to ensure healthcare services align with community values and requirements.
- Experience working in an Indigenous community including knowledge of First Nations culture, traditions and values is considered an asset
- Valid class 5 Driver’s License & Clean Driver’s Abstract Required
- Clean Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector
