**Position Objective**

The Specialist, QC will accurately complete physical product inspections of produce commodities to ensure that quality standards are met based on legislation, Global Food Safety Initiatives (GFSI), business operating standards and customer specifications. **What you will do in a typical day**:

- Ensure strong attention to detail while completing inspections. Missed details or gaps in following process could result in shrink and company losses.
- Ensure up to date knowledge on customer specifications and quality standards for assigned customer inspection reports.
- Strong knowledge of produce including organic fruits and vegetables.
- Sample fruits and vegetables to check temperature and pressure of product.
- Take pictures of product and packaging labels to upload to the software to build reports.
- Request CFIA inspection and collect the samples as needed and send out result to Category Manager.
- Ensure all product handling follows all quality control parameters, regulatory, HACCP and BRC food safety requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety rules and regulations.
- Monitor quality of product in storage on a daily basis.
- Identify quality or temperature problems in shipments.
- Provide timely and clear communication on all inspections
- Advise buyers of deteriorating quality in storage in a timely fashion
- Maintain constant communication and working relations hips with warehouse employees

**What you will need to succeed at Burnac**:At minimum, you will need:

- Knowledge of BRC requirements, HACCP, GMP and Food Safety Regulations
- 1 to 3 years minimum experience in the fresh produce business or food and beverage
- 1 to 3 years’ experience working within food inspection position, completing physical inspections
- Strong product knowledge of produce
- Strong computer skills
- Strong communication skills - written and oral
- Lift 22kg floor to waist, waist to shoulder and above shoulder
- Ability to work in a cold environment
- Ability to pull, bend, twist and climb each shift
- Ability to walk and stand each shift
