**JOB OVERVIEW**
- **Job Title**:_ Intermediate Urban Planner
- **Job Type**:_ Full Time - Permanent
- **Location**:_Oakville, Ontario - Hybrid remote - 3 days in office, 2 days at home.

**ABOUT US**

**JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Guide the preparation of various types of land use plans including, but not limited to; development concept plans, neighborhood plans, draft plans of subdivision and site plans.
- Prepare for and attend meetings such as Public Information Sessions, Planning Committee, Council, and other jurisdictional committees, as required.
- Conduct research on such matters as Official Plans, zoning by-laws, municipal engineering, and parks standards.
- Liaise with clients, development consultants, government officials and the public.
- Occasional travel to conduct site visits and attend meetings with clients and municipal staff.

**SKILL REQUIREMENTS**
- A minimum of 5 years of directly related experience in private planning practice and/or municipal planning.
- A degree from a recognized Urban Planning program. A Master’s degree is preferred.
- Full membership in OPPI.
- Strong understanding of neighbourhood design and site planning principles.
- Experience in the full range of development approvals including Official Plan and Zoning By-law Amendments, draft plans of subdivision and condominium, minor variances, consents and site plan approval.
- Effective interpersonal skills, including written, verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD.
- A valid Driver’s License and use of a vehicle for business purposes.
