Hydrovac Truck Operator

**JOB SUMMARY**

Under the direction of the Water and Wastewater Manager, the incumbent is responsible for the operation of a hydro vacuum truck, various equipment used in the maintenance of water and wastewater facilities, including tractors and specialized equipment. The Maintenance Worker also provides assistance to all licensed operators in the department in manual work tasks.

**MAIN RESPONSABILITIES**
- Operate a tandem axle hydro-vacuum truck to transport wastewater solids;
- Perform preventive maintenance and inspect the trucks and auxiliary equipment they use;
- Maintain all sanitary sewer collection pipes;
- Clean sanitary pumping stations (confined space);
- Perform maintenance for sanitary lagoon facilities (grass cutting and snow removal);
- Carry out all tasks related to the cleaning of tanks with a hydro-vacuum truck (confined space);
- Report anomalies on the sanitary and water systems;
- Record all vacuum truck activities and hours to provide proper billing for interdepartmental work;
- Occasionally supervise contractors working for the municipality;
- Accomplish all other related tasks.

**Specific knowledge**:

- Bilingual Oral and written an asset;
- DZ driving licence;
- Valid first aid and CPR/AED certificate;
Must have a valid WHMIS certificate and fire extinguisher certificate;
**REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES**
- Excellent judgment on the field;
- Able to work independently or in a team;
- Knowledge of mechanical and hydro excavation;
- Ability to plan, organize and manage workload to meet deadlines for completion of tasks;
- Reliable, sense of observation, initiative and good team spirit, conscientious;
**Hour of work**: 42 hours per week

**Salary**:$35.25 to $39.85 per hour
