**OVERVIEW**

**CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS**
- Diploma or higher education related to environmental sciences, biology or other related discipline
- Minimum 1 to 5 years of environmental work experience with three or more of the following:

- Phase I and Phase II program execution
- Remediation
- Groundwater monitoring
- Spill response
- Reclamation supervision
- Detailed Site Assessments
- Vegetation management/reclamation site inspections
- Preparing reclamation closure reports for submission in Saskatchewan
- Project management experience is an asset - cost estimates, scheduling, budget tracking client interactions and communications
- Experience in the upstream oil and gas industry
- Willingness to work in the field for extended periods of time; willingness to travel within Western Canada as required
- Excellent communication and technical reporting skills
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Working knowledge of contaminated sites and reclamation regulations in Alberta and Saskatchewan

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Spend up to 80% of work hours performing technical field activities on environmental projects, which may include:

- Environmental Assessments (Phase I and II)
- Remediation - supervision and management of remedial excavations
- Spill response
- Groundwater monitoring
- Detailed Site Assessments
- Vegetation management/reclamation site inspections
- Reclamation supervision
- Regulatory submissions
- Responsible for both field and office execution of environmental projects with an emphasis on field work
- Active stewardship of Vertex and client safety programs is expected
- Responsible to build relationships within Vertex, with regulators and clients to effectively develop and manage projects within the environmental business unit
- Mentor and coach junior environmental staff

**LOCATION**

This position will be based out of our Regina, SK or remote from Weyburn or Swift Current, SK
