Central Alberta Co-op is hiring a full-time **Facilities Manager** at our **Administration Office** in Red Deer, Alberta.

**Full-time**:40 hours/week. Benefit eligible after 3 months.

**Responsibilities**:
Effective and efficient operations allow the Co-op to provide quality product and services to our consumers. As the Facilities Manager, you will:

- Work with the Director of Risk, other Executive Leaders and Division and Department Managers to ensure the overall safe, effective operations of all commodities, identify areas for improvement and follow up on execution related to all areas of Facilities.
- Maintain a listing of and manage all major Co-op assets (ie. buildings, equipment, fleet vehicles) including all required inspections, ongoing maintenance and processes, checklists, standards and logs.
- Develop and implement facilities best practices, procedures, and service systems to ensure the company is well positioned to improve capacities and increase customer service.
- Analyze equipment issues, identify solutions, or determine options for resolution and ensure repairs to the equipment are carried out effectively.
- Oversee the implementation and compliance with all aspects of preventative maintenance for buildings and equipment including environmental hazards.
- Oversee all maintenance of HVAC, grounds, lighting systems, fire safety systems and all other equipment at our sites.
- Manage all vehicle and driver files as part of CAC’s Fleet Management Program.
- Manage all vendor contracts for recurring activities such as snow removal, gardener, garbage removal and one-off activities such as renovations, new construction, large maintenance jobs.
- Support and assist where necessary or required on all larger or major projects related to facilities including renovations, new builds, expansions, etc.
- Conduct and/or delegate effective site safety orientations.
- Conducts orientation/training for new managers/supervisors on any systems or equipment required as part of their roles.
- Complete minor repairs whenever possible.
- Document and report hazards. Implement immediate corrective actions if and when possible. Ensure appropriate measures are in place to minimize future hazards.
- Keep abreast of trends, best practices, and impacts to the CRS.
- Work closely with other departments (i.e. Health & Safety/Operations/Finance) to achieve results and meet required expectations pertaining to the operations in these areas.

**Qualifications**:

- Education in a technical field or equivalent training or experience
- Experience with refrigeration, hydraulic, pumps, hoses, valves and motors would be an asset
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills required for a collaborative team environment including problem solving and the ability to “think outside the box”
- Ability to manage and maintain a Facilities Management Software solution
- Experience in Operations, Facilities and Project Management
- Journeyman Certificate (Millwright, Electrician, Refrigeration) - Asset but not required
- HVACC Certificate - Asset but not required
- Certified Facility Manager (CFM) - Asset but not required
- Maintenance Management Professional Certificate (MMP) - Asset but not required
