**Position: Custodian/Cleaner**

Work Sites:

- 262 Gerrard Street East, Toronto Ontario
- 234-6 Carlton Street, Toronto
- 277 Rusholme Road, Toronto
- 35 Northumberland Street, Toronto
- 1183 Davenport Road, Toronto

Position Type: Full Time

Hours per Week: 37.5 hours per week; shifts ranging from 8:00am to 6:00pm

Compensation: $20.50/hr

Accountability: Reports to the Director of Operations or delegate

**Position Summary**

Reporting to the Director of Operations or delegate, the Custodian/Cleaner undertakes routine custodial duties ensuring a safe and hygienic environment for clients and staff.

**Responsibilities**
- Executes scheduled cleaning of common, client and staff areas in all facilities
- Performs regular inspection of facilities and systems to inform activities
- Performs special projects outside of regularly scheduled cleaning as assigned
- Supports effective management of workplace health and safety, security systems, alarm systems, utilities, and applicable licensing requirements
- Facilitates and/or performs cleaning, refuse removal, and room setup
- Inventories supplies and equipment as required
- Performs other related duties as assigned

**Qualifications, Skills and Abilities**
- Awareness and appreciation of client needs specific to the substance use, substance dependency and mental health field
- One (1) year of direct work experience in facilities maintenance
- Workplace Hazardous Materials Information Systems (WHMIS) certification an asset
- Ability to function independently and complete work as assigned
- Strong written and verbal skills
- Strong client service orientation
- First Aid, CPR, and/or other certificates are considered assets

**Working Conditions**
- Ability to attend regularly scheduled meetings and engage in impromptu supervisory conversations
- Ability to stand or walk for long periods of the day.
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs / 23 kg
- Manual dexterity required to use a telephone
