Estimator (Woodworking)

Mountjoy Millwork is looking for an experienced Estimator. This position is responsible for estimating custom Millwork. You will also be involved with purchasing & some project management. AutoCAD / Drafting/ Shop drawing is a bonus, but not a requirement.


Duties/Responsibilities:

- Estimating & Sales
- Respond to Bid requests
- Evaluate & Document tenders as they come in
- Communicate with suppliers, Architects and Contractors
- Produce take-offs & document quotes that we receive
- Produce quotes based on the tender information we receive (All correspondence, drawings/plans, addendums & specifications)
- Work with Project managers for project handoff
- Meet or exceed quarterly sales goals and ensure that acceptable profit margins are maintained.
- Continuously establish new clients and maintain relationships with existing clients.
- Generate and develop new opportunities
- Ensure sales and bidding sheets are updated and accurate.
- Include as much detail as possible in Quotes including specifications and exclusions.
- Have all bids reviewed by management for accuracy.
- Track all bidding and sales and provide reports as requested.
- Follow up on bids as necessary to monitor our pricing compared to our competitors.
- Work with our Project Management/Estimating software

Qualifications:

- 5 years hands on experience in manufacturing/trade
- Very competent in math and accounting
- Excellent computer skills
- Must have ability to read architectural drawings/plans
- Must be self-motivated
- Must have good communication skills
- Must have good organization skills and time management
- Must be capable of multitasking
- Must have own transportation and valid driver’s license

**Experience**:

- Architectural Millwork: 2 years (preferred)
- Reading Architectural Drawings: 2 years (preferred)
- Estimating: 2+ years (required)
