Each position within communities operated by Symphony Senior Living will have a job description. The current job description will be kept in the relevant policy and procedure manual to ensure that all team members have access. A signed copy is also kept in the Team Members file.

Job descriptions will be reviewed and revised by management periodically to reflect new services, updated practices and/or changes required by regulatory agencies. All Job descriptions will be reviewed with team members ANNUALY and re-signed to ensure understanding and any training requirements have been met.

**JOB SUMMARY**

Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer or designate, performs routine preventative maintenance and repair procedures on the building, mechanical equipment and utility systems.

Consistent with the SSL Mission, Vision and Values, the Maintenance position contributes to the efficient operation of the Community.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

Performs minor repair of building and equipment. (Major repairs are performed under the supervision of licensed maintenance workers.) Minor repairs including but not limited replacing light bulbs, patch painting walls and doors in common areas as well as resident suites, ensuring lint traps are cleaned and in good repair,

Performs preventive maintenance procedures on building mechanical equipment

Completes daily, weekly, and monthly checklists on building equipment maintenance and completes repairs as required.

Procedures and maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures

Responds to emergency maintenance requests as required

Maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures

Performs custodial duties, such as common area cleaning and steam cleaning of carpets and furniture as required.

Outside custodial duties include snow removal and salting to ensure that all entrances and exists are clear.

Order cleaning supplies and maintenance supplies

Creates a community wide environment that protects the confidentiality of the residents, Team Members and activities of Symphony Senior Living

Protects their own health and the health of other by adopting safe work practices, reporting unsafe conditions immediately and attending all relevant in-services regarding occupational health and safety.

Follows all guidelines for Team Members and employers as legislated under the Occupational Health and Safety.

Maintains and pre-qualifies contractors in accordance with the SSL Contractor Safety Program

Acts as liaison between contractors
