**We are currently seeking a Claims Specialist who will report to the VP, Commercial Lines. In this role, you will champion the claims process from start to end. A key part of the role is to provide a claims experience that maximizes client satisfaction through ongoing advocacy.**

**What will you do?**
- Evaluate, analyze and interpret policy wordings in order to determine coverage applicable to the loss
- Process new loss information on applicable claims system
- Negotiate and advocate on behalf of the insured through the settlement process
- Proactively manage all claims to conclusion through the use and ongoing maintenance of an effective abeyance system
- Maintain claims documentation
- Analyze claims data for trends to provide future risk mitigation
- Prepare reports for internal and external parties
- Attend and participate in meetings, mediations, settlement conferences
- Provide ongoing status updates to customers and internal teams until file closure

**Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications**:

- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a claim’s role
- Experience in Commercial Insurance
- Completed Post-Secondary education in related field of study (college or university level)
- Interpersonal, strong communication and listening skills are crucial for this position
- Strong analytical skills
- Possess a deep understanding of insurance claims negotiation and settlement techniques
