Director, Inventory Optimization (12-month Contract)

The Director of Inventory Optimization develops the strategy to design the future demand-driven state of the organization and serve as the business leader of the demand and fulfillment planning process. This leader l supports the design and implementation of a new Demand and Fulfillment Planning System for the LCBO network. You will develop and lead a Center of Excellence to create the demand plan, alignment of that plan between different functions within the organization, the translation of that demand plan to the supply plan and implement fulfillment strategies to deliver great customer experience. You will direct the team to partner with Retail, E-Com, Merchandising, Grocery, Marketing, Wholesale and Finance to develop an accurate demand forecast for all SKU’s in the designated area of the business. The team under you will grow profitable sales by developing accurate statistical demand forecasts enabling the organization to correctly predict customer demand. At the same time develop and implement fulfillment strategies working collaboratively with leaders across the supply chain to meet that demand while driving optimized inventory, increased turns and higher service levels.

You will be in a leadership position, reporting directly to the Vice President, Inventory Planning and Supply Chain Strategy.

About the Role- Create and implement the demand and fulfillment planning strategy for us including demand planning process, systems selection and implementation to increase sales by improving customer availability while managing our assets by improving inventory turns- Lead the optimization of business processes and system capabilities to enable supply chain operations, supporting fulfillment across all channels and customers- Establish measurable goals and Indicators to improve forecast performance and inventory availability. Optimize inventory and propel profitable sales by ensuring highest level of product availability to all customers (Retail, E-Com, Wholesale, and Grocery)- Create and lead a team that exceeds expectations by catering to all internal and external customers while driving profitable sales and higher inventory turns- Collaborate with external Consultants, Merchandizing, Finance, Distribution and Marketing leadership to develop strategies and create execution plans- Advise S&OP (Sales and Operational Planning) committee on the generation of consolidated demand-driven plans and the associated fulfillment strategies- Establish and cultivate strategic relationships with all suppliers and wholesale customers

About You- Post-secondary education in Supply Chain /Inventory management or business-related field- 6-8 years of experience in Inventory Management and/or Demand and Fulfillment planning and system implementations- APICS certification preferred: Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)- Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)- Familiarity with beverage alcohol industry and sound knowledge of government beverage alcohol regulations- Experience in end-to-end business understanding and capabilities- Change Management and Leadership capabilities- Statistical Forecasting/Analysis and Process Improvement- Experience dealing with external consulting and software firms- Experience using and implementing demand and fulfillment planning technology- Experience with Microsoft Office suite, alongside, JDA/ORACLE/SAP or similar suites- Resolving problems using analytical skills
