Cad Technician

**Pentalift Equipment Corporation** is one of North America’s leading manufacturers of loading dock equipment and industrial material handling equipment. Along with lift tables we produce rotating lifts, industrial platform lifts, positioning tables, multistage scissor lift solutions, and tilters in numerous configurations.

We are currently recruiting for a full-time permanent CAD Design Technician to join our Engineering team. This role reports directly to the Engineering Manager Research and development. The hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00 pm.

**Responsibilities**

Primary responsibilities of this position will be working with drawings and technical information including electrical schematics in the engineering department. This may involve talking directly with the customer on occasions to assist in troubleshooting. Completing Bills of Materials and equipment drawings to provide to the customer, custom order processing. Generating concept designs with a costed BOM to provide estimates to the customer. Create correct designs and select accurate components and integrate this into the design of our equipment while adhering to applicable standards and regulations. Completing sales and approval drawings for customers as well as processing of custom product estimates. Work to gather technical information to create configurable drawing for custom orders. Process custom equipment orders. Assist with various technical office duties in the engineering department.

**Qualifications**
- **MUST **have working knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems.
- Knowledge and experience related to Electrical and Hydraulic technical design and schematics for machine construction and manufacturing.
- Good attention to detail and quality of work when creating drawings and Bills of Materials.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Including Excel and Access.
- Proficient using CAD Drafting software (AutoCAD Mechanical, and SolidWorks).
- Troubleshooting and problem solving skills
- Adept in following product design and technical processes to ensure adherence to the standards of the organization
- Ability to determine and estimated material labour content for estimates.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to complete technically detailed work on time with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle changing.
- Knowledge of use of Adobe InDesign would be an asset.
