The Chris Rose Therapy Centre for Autism in Kamloops, British Columbia, is looking for full and part time workers in the Community Inclusion Program. This program work with autistic adults 19+ who are affiliated with CLBC. The young men and women we work with will have tailor-made programs geared toward their individuals goals. Our staff works with them toward achieving their goals, while keeping in mind the client's individual personal care plans and behaviour plans. The individuals in our adult program have been with our Centre for many years in our other programs, and are very important to us.

In this job, you would work primarily 1-to-1 with one or more clients, with very limited group interactions. Activites will include swimming, crafts / cooking as applicable, time spent outdoors, time in sensory therapy, and more. Some of our young men and women may have newspaper routes. Part of the responsibility of staff will be driving their client to various activities.

**This is not a desk job.** You will work directly with the clients. Depending on the client, they have different personal care plans, and may experience different behaviour challenges. This can include needing assistance with toileting, and may also include being there for the client if they are having a behaviour episode. The majority of the day is spent in the community with the clients, not at a specific set location.

The schedule for this position is as follows:

- Monday 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- Tuesday 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM
- Wednesday 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- Thursday 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM
- Friday 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Benefits and pay range:

- The position starts at $21.55. The wage scale will be discussed in the interview.
- Benefits are available to staff who regularly work 24 or more hours a week upon successful completion of the probation period.
- There are reimbursements for mileage, difference of insurance, and petty cash transactions. Exact details will be discussed in the interview.

Responsibilities and Duties:

- To work in a one-to-one or group setting as needed with an autistic adult with an individual goal plan and take an active role in their activities while also providing transportation.
- To at all times preserve the confidentiality of the clients in the program.

Requirements and Qualifications:

- Preference will be given to individuals who have worked with autistic adults.
- Must be able to pass a Criminal Records Check (vulnerable sector).
- Valid First Aid
- 19 years or older.
- Valid BC Driver's License (Class 5) and a reliable car to transport clients.
