Posting Overview:
Qualifications/Experience:

- Bachelor's degree in computer studies or related discipline. Equivalent relevant experience may be considered;
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) highly desirable;
- Cisco CCNA/CCNP, CCSP an asset;
- Microsoft MCITP (MCSE) an asset;
- minimum of five years related experience in enterprise IT infrastructure with an emphasis on security.

Other Key Skills & Knowledge:

- Strong understanding and hands-on experience with drafting security policies, conducting security investigations, understanding current hacking techniques and mitigating actions;
- Strong understanding of enterprise technical infrastructure and their security settings/potential vulnerabilities (servers, software, networking, LAN/WAN troubleshooting, end-point devices, etc.);
- Strong understanding and practical hands-on responsible experience with the following technologies: SD WAN, SASE, Next Generation Firewalls (NGF), Identity Access management/Active Directory, Microsoft Azure infrastructure Management, Microsoft end point, server and cloud security management;
- Ability to independently review complex technical architectures and determine the best proactive approach to obtaining and maintaining strong IT security posture (i.e. routine maintenance tasks, proactive testing and implementation of patches/updates);
- Strong understanding of software as a service and cloud-based infrastructure;
- Conduct routine security audits on all systems and services;
- Keep informed of latest security threats and recommend mitigating strategies and actions;
- Conduct IT security investigations (technical and administrative);
- Liaise with internal departments and external agencies on investigations;
- Determine needs and provide security awareness and training;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Excellent prioritization and analytical skills;
- All other duties as assigned by the Manager of IT.

Position Effective Date & Length:
Non-union, 35 hours/week. Located at the Chatham Regional Education Centre.

Level 5 - $82,531 - $91,701

Pension and benefits will be provided in accordance with Board regulations.
