**ABOUT THE POSITION**

**Description**

AltoMaxx Technologies is once again expanding its field operations team and is currently seeking an experienced drone pilot to join our flight crew in our Calgary, Alberta.

**Primary Responsibilities**
- Conduct drone operations in the field
- Perform the duties of a pilot, crew member, visual observer, or payload operator
- Operate a variety of drone models and sensor payloads
- Acquire field data using established techniques and methods
- Assist with data collection, review, analysis, and delivery
- Deliver high-quality results that meet or exceed client expectations
- Plan and execute drone flights in a safe and efficient manner
- Perform pre-flight, mid-flight, and post-flight checks and procedures
- Maintain, monitor, and document the condition of the drone fleet, field equipment, company vehicles, and other assets
- Abide by all Government of Canada aviation regulations pertaining to drone operations
- Follow drone operational procedures and best practices as outlined in the AltoMaxx Operations ManuaL
- Adhere to all safety requirements of clients, OH&S legislation, and the AltoMaxx Safety Program
- Participate in required safety procedures such as Hazard Assessments, Inspections, Incident Reports, Investigations, and Toolbox Talks, and comply with all resulting safety activities
- Maintain required personal safety certifications and complete training to enhance skills and knowledge

**QUALIFICATIONS**

**Preferred Skills and Experience**:

- Professional drone piloting experience
- Valid Transport Canada RPAS Advanced Operations Pilot Certificate
- Familiarity with operating enterprise-level drones
- Experience planning and executing automated drone flights
- Knowledge of Part IX of the Canadian Aviation Regulations
- Commitment to workplace health and safety standards
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate and work as part of a team
- Sound analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proven organizational skills and attention to detail
- Desire to learn and adapt to rapidly changing technology

**Beneficial Assets**:

- Transport Canada RPAS Pilot Flight Reviewer Rating
- Valid safety certifications (First Aid, H2S Alive, BST, Confined Space Entry, Fall Arrest, CAPP Medical, HUEBA in HUET, etc.)
- Experience in geomatics, surveying, visual inspections, or utility locating
- Familiarity with drone flight planning software (DJI Pilot, Pix4d Capture, UgCS, etc.)
- Experience constructing 3D models, point clouds, orthomosiac maps, and DSMs using Photogrammetry and/or LiDAR data (Pix4d Mapper, DJI Terra, etc.)

**Conditions for Employment**:

- Willing and available to travel (possibly to remote locations)
- Willing to work in the field and perform drone piloting duties
- Able to earn an RPAS Advanced Operations Pilot Certificate
- Able to pass routine drug screening tests
- Have a valid driver’s license
