This unique role includes a part-time permanent Administrative Assistant assignment and a part-time temporary Educational Assistant assignment. As an Educational Assistant the employees works under the supervision of a certified teacher who retains the responsibility for planning, instruction, supervision and evaluation of the students. The primary responsibilities of an Administrative Assistant include receptionist duties, communicating with students, staff and parents, maintaining student and financial records, generating statistical reports, daily attendance, secretarial support and other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- one year of formal experience performing responsible clerical and secretarial work;
- Educational Assistant Diploma and/or post-secondary program for administrative assistants with CPR/First Aid preferred;
- experience working with children in an organized setting;
- preference will be given to those with NVCI training;
- experience working with students who exhibit challenging behaviors is an asset;
- ability and willingness to perform required physical tasks, as well as assist with personal care;
- other combinations of education, training, and experience which provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position may be considered.
