**CONSTRUCTION SURVEYOR**

PME Inc. is based in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. The PME Group provides civil site work and common construction services to the oil and gas industry in Western Canada. The key bases of work have most recently been to the oil refineries, oil sands development and oil and gas pipeline sectors in the greater Edmonton, Fort Saskatchewan and Fort McMurray areas.

**Construction Surveyor**

**Role and Responsibilities**
- Operate RTK GPS equipment (Experience with Topcon is considered an asset) on civil / heavy industrial jobsites
- Read survey stakes to determine grade specification
- Observe excavating activities to verify conformance to construction design
- Perform topographic surveys to determine volume quantities for progress billing
- Verify existing and set new survey control as required
- Perform as built surveys
- Calculate given elevations/measurements from drawings and perform layout
- Layout of piles, anchor bolts, perform measurements for pile cutoffs
- Comprehend blueprint readings to prepare layouts and do as-builts of the following, but not limited to: excavation limits for shallow foundations, concrete pour heights, concrete/foundation corners, concrete embeds and anchors, and underground piping locations)
- aintain a high regard for safety

**Required Skills**:

- Proficient with RTK GPS, rod and level, laser level and robotic total station measuring equipment
- Must possess a clear understanding of survey, blueprint reading, and GPS equipment
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Adequate computer skills are required
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans from a surveying perspective
- Able to work with little supervision

**Required Experience**
- Geomatics/Survey Technology Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution
- 5 years of survey experience in construction layout services, topographic surveys, control surveys, and as built surveys, heavy civil / industrial jobsites
- Must successfully complete pre-access drug and alcohol testing
- Must have previous surveying experience working with CAD programs
- Must possess valid CSTS.09 (Construction Safety Training Systems) certification
- Must possess a valid Driver's License and provide an insurable Driver's Abstract
