**Job Summary**
Gould's Home Furnishings is looking for an experienced, career-minded sales manager. We require a positive, team-oriented manager to set and meet sales goals and to ensure that every member of the sales team is delivering in accordance with the high standards of the companies defined goals.

Sales manager shall be responsible for the development and implementation of sales strategies for increasing sales and profits through a customer base. Our sales manager must support the sales team by providing extensive product and industry knowledge and experience, participating in sales and marketing activities including sales promotions, advertising, etc., and providing the sales team with guidance and leadership towards the achievement of established sales and profit goals.

**Responsibilities**
- Manage the efforts and activities of sales department in alignment with corporate revenue goals and objectives.
- Supervise sales personnel, including recruitment, termination, training, performance evaluations, work allocation, and conflict resolution.
- Analyze the effectiveness of sales programs; recommend and implement changes based on findings.
- Monitor records and reports - including shipping, receiving, and order fulfillment - to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Develop, prepare, and deliver sales materials, trade show exhibits, conference appearances, and other promotional programs.
- Assist V.P. of Sales in the development of strategic plans for the sales function; administer practices and procedures to enhance operations.
- Maintain contracts and relations with major accounts, outlets, wholesalers, vendors, and other distributors/business partners.
- Act as liaison to other business units for completion of day-to-day administrative and operational issues.
- Develop, manage, and nurture current and new business accounts to accomplish profit and volume goals.
- Communicate brand identity internally to sales department, key accounts, and the customer base at large.
- Provide input from sales department for the collaboration of strategic and tactical planning processes.
- Monitor sales and provide weekly/monthly status reports.

**Qualifications**
- 5 years of direct work experience in a management capacity.
- Experience in all aspects of sales, including growth strategies, distribution channel management, account development, and business planning.
- Strong knowledge of retail and/or wholesale sales principles, methods, practices, and techniques.
- Ability to examine and re-engineer sales operations, form new policies, develop and implement new strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and direct sales forces, both retail and wholesale.
- Ability to supervise and train employees, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
- Solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills.
- Excellent teamwork and team building skills.
- Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with corporate departments, key business partners, and customers.
- Knowledge of cost analysis, fiscal management, and budgeting techniques.
- Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills.
- Experience creating incentives and compensation plans.
- Ability to create and edit sales materials and presentations.
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to coordinate and organize meetings, exhibits, and other events.
- High level of proficiency with point-of-sale software packages.
