Health Care Aide

The Resident Attendant/Health Care Aide shall provide personal care and other services to residents in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Home.
**Employment Terms**:
1. Must have the ability to commute to work (17 Genier Street, St. Albert, ON)
2. Must have a Canadian work permit
3. Bilingual (Asset)
4. Medication Administration Certificate (Asset)
5. Working every second weekend
6. Pay is based on experience
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Provides services and interacts with residents and resident family members in a professional manner
- Complete all assigned paperwork
- Participates as a member of the care team and provides support to the other members of the Services team
- help serving meals to the resident
- help with some laundry and cleaning
- Do activities with the resident
- Observes and adheres to all policies and procedures, work standards and safety regulations
- Assists and attends to care needs of the residents as required
- Maintains work and storage areas in a clean, safe and sanitary manner
- Aware of employees and supervisor’s responsibilities and follows all health and safety policies and procedures
- Works safely to reduce the risk of injury to self, co-workers, and residents
- Is alert to, remedies, and promptly reports all actual or potentially hazardous situations
- Other related duties as assigned
**Education/Experience**:
- Previous experience in providing personal care
- Preferred post-secondary education in related care fields of PSW/HCA/ DSW certification
- Must be able to read and communicate effectively
- Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions
- Demonstrated empathy and understanding of the needs of seniors
- Effective interpersonal relationship and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to organize work and work under strict time constraints
- Must have a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness
- Must be able to operate related equipment
- Must be able to respond to emergency situations

Responsabilités principales:
- Fournit des services et interagit avec les résidents et les membres de leur famille de manière professionnelle.
- Complète toute la documentation assignée.
- Participe en tant que membre de l'équipe de soins et soutient les autres membres de l'équipe des services.
- Aide à servir les repas aux résidents.
- Aide à la lessive et au nettoyage.
- Fait des activités avec les résidents.
- Observe et respecte toutes les politiques et procédures, normes de travail et réglementations de sécurité.
- Assiste et répond aux besoins de soins des résidents selon les besoins.
- Maintient les zones de travail et de stockage de manière propre, sûre et hygiénique.
- Connaît les responsabilités des employés et du superviseur, et suit toutes les politiques et procédures de santé et de sécurité.
- Travaille de manière sécuritaire pour réduire le risque de blessure pour soi-même, ses collègues et les résidents.
- Est attentif aux situations réelles ou potentiellement dangereuses, les corrige et les signale rapidement.
- Autres tâches connexes assignées.
Éducation/Expérience:
- Expérience antérieure dans la prestation de soins personnels.
- Formation post-secondaire préférée dans des domaines de soins connexes, avec certification PSW/HCA/DSW.
- Doit être capable de lire et de communiquer efficacement.
- Doit être capable de suivre des instructions écrites et verbales.
- Démontre de l'empathie et une compréhension des besoins des personnes âgées.
- Compétences efficaces en relations interpersonnelles et en résolution de conflits.
- Capacité à organiser le travail et à travailler dans des délais stricts.
- Doit avoir des normes élevées d'hygiène et de propreté.
- Doit être capable de manipuler des équipements connexes.
- Doit être capable de réagir en cas de situations d'urgence.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time
**Salary**: From $16.55 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
- Night shift
- Weekends as needed
