**Annual Salary**:$45,099.60 to $64,919.40
**Contract Dates**:August 14, 2023 to August 4, 2024

**NATURE AND SCOPE**

Under the responsibility of the Associate Dean, Student Success and in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, the AccessAbility Technician, helps develop, implement and coordinate support measures and services for students requiring special support within the College.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Assists the Adapted Services Counsellor in communicating with families and students regarding accommodations
- Reviews documentation submitted by students regarding functional, learning or other disabilities which may warrant accommodations, and participates in the preparation of individualized intervention plans (IIP)
- Supports faculty with the administration of appropriate accommodations and support measures to facilitate students’ integration and learning
- Meets with students on a regular basis to evaluate their individualized plans and adjusts accommodations, support measures and goals if necessary
- Assists students with disclosure strategies, self-advocacy and communication skills to facilitate the transition to post-secondary studies
- Identifies tools to support student learning (assistive technology, alternate formats, etc.) and provides the necessary training to students
- Researches and obtains class material for students with particular needs (electronic textbooks from publishers, braille translation requests, etc.)
- Oversees exam accommodations, including scheduling students and invigilators

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Diploma of College Studies (DEC) in Special Care Counselling or equivalent
- Relevant experience working with students with special needs in a higher education environment
- Experience with adaptive technology
- Knowledge of Omnivox and Clara is an asset
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (testing may be required)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and French (testing may be required)
