**Position**: Youth Facilitator

**Number of Hours**: 15 hrs ~ 20 hrs/week

**Availability to work**:Mondays 5-7pm, Tuesdays 9-12 pm, Wednesdays 5-7 pm and Thursdays 9-4 pm.

**Job Summary**:
The Action for Healthy Communities (AHC) is a non-profit charitable organization working in Edmonton since 1995 to strengthen community capacity and build healthier and stronger communities.

We are seeking a dedicated Children and Youth Program Facilitator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for planning and leading group engagements that focus on enhancing knowledge, life skills, and community engagement for immigrant youth. Your efforts will contribute to fostering positive development in young individuals and creating a lasting impact.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Developing new group activities to meet program objectives and enhance youth engagement
- Conduct group information sessions at designated sites (ex. High schools, Libraries, AHC)
- Stay updated on emerging trends and challenges faced by program participants and communicate these insights to the Program Coordinator.
- Prepare necessary materials and supplies for program activities.
- Group sessions cover a range of topics including, but not limited to, the Canadian system, social norms, Diversity and Respect, Working with others, Community Resources, and Canadian Holidays.
- Hands-on activities include, but not limited to, Arts and Craft, Physical activities, Teambuilding Games
- Organize field trips to various locations for immigrant youth and provide facilitation throughout the trip.
- Ensure clear communication with partners about logístical changes at program sites.

**Other Duties**:

- Attend promotional and engagement events like parents' nights and community info nights.
- Assist in the registration process for program participants.
- Maintain accurate program records, including attendance, report writing and participation data.
- Conduct participant evaluations to assess program effectiveness.
- Perform additional related tasks as necessary to contribute to the success of the program.

**Requirement**:

- Proficient computer skills
- Strong verbal communication and writing abilities
- Strong facilitation skills
- Familiarity with the Canadian system
- Fluency in languages other than English is an asset.
- Educational background in social work, education, child and youth, or sociology.
- A clear Police Information Check with Vulnerable sector check is mandatory before commencing work.
- The placements will be determined by both work availability and skills. We have program sites located throughout Edmonton. The role involves visiting various sites and requires driving. Mileage will be provided for work-related travel between the sites.
- Ability to transport supplies and materials to program sites.
