The Intensive Care Unit at The Ottawa Hospital - General Campus is a special unit that cares for patients with acute, life-threatening illness or injury. Critical Care is provided by specially trained ICU teams of physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, pharmacists and other allied health professionals who use their unique expertise and ability to provide intensive resuscitation, ongoing treatment, and monitoring to the hospital's sickest patients.

**Rotation/Shifts**:
Days, 8 hour shifts.

**Basic Requirements**:

- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or other Health related discipline;
- Five (5) years clinical and management experience combined;
- Current membership with the College of Nurses of Ontario;
- Strong leadership skills to support and provide direction to staff in an active and rapidly changing environment;
- Proven ability in working effectively with all members of health care team;
- Excellent oral/written communication skills;
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, problem solving, negotiation, conflict resolution and decision making skills;
- Ability to analyze and interpret data;
- Knowledge of Hospital policies and procedures, relative legislation, collective agreements, Canadian Hospital Association Standards, College of Nurses of Ontario Standards of Nursing Practice, nursing theories and a research based professional role;
- Knowledge of other health care disciplines and their role in patient care;
- Knowledge of budgeting process and ability to analyze fiscal data;
- Ability to maintain a high level of concentration in a busy working environment.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Master's Degree in a Management, Nursing or Health related program;
- Experience in/or strong knowledge of Critical Care;
- Proficiency in English and French - oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level).
