**JOB TITLE**: QC Microbiologist
**DEPARTMENT**:Quality
**POSITION REPORTING TO**: QC Microbiology, Supervisor
**LOCATION**:Mississauga, ON (5 days on site)
**TERM**:Contract

**General Description**
Perform microbiological analyses on raw materials, finished products and environmental monitoring samples.

**Responsibilities**
- Follow all safety policies, maintain a clean and orderly work area, and report any potentially unsafe conditions within the workplace.
- Perform all microbiological analyses including preparations of samples and media in accordance with cGMP while following regulatory and Bora standards.
- Perform identification of microbial isolates.
- Provide thorough documentation and prompt reporting of any anomalies.
- Maintain laboratory systems and participate in projects as required.
- Assist in investigations of OOS and OOT results.
- May be required to perform L1 self-inspections.
- May be required to assist in internal, corporate, and regulatory audits and respond to their queries.
- May be required to review analytical records.
- May be required to update methods/procedures, initiate change proposals and support decommissioning and recommissioning activities.

**Qualifications**
- Minimum of 1-2 years of Quality Control experience in a microbiology lab.
- Good theoretical and practical knowledge or microbiological techniques such as media preparation, gram staining, MLT testing and environmental swabbing and sampling.
- Demonstrated proficiency in basic analytical techniques.
- Good knowledge of laboratory GMP.

**Education**
Required:

- College Diploma in Microbiology or a related science
- Computer proficiency for MS Word & MS Excel
- GMP experience/knowledge

Preferred:

- University degree in Microbiology

**WORKING CONDITIONS**
Working within the microbiology laboratory with Raw Materials, Finished Products and Environmental samples. Will work with biological cultures. 37.5-hour work week.
