**Youth Services Team Lead**

**Full-Time Contract (4-5 Months)**

**What You’ll Do**

As a Youth Services Team Lead, you will:

- In consultation with the Branch Manager and the Manager, Youth Services, coordinate, schedule, plan, organize and conduct weekly youth services programs and assists with or conducts other programs or events as requested.
- Lead and guide programmers on the development and implementation of program delivery.
- In consultation with the Branch Manager and the Manager, Youth Services, plan and develop all branch youth services activities within the system-wide youth services programming guidelines, and collects program statistics.
- Propose and implement the usage of new technologies and materials for programs and Youth Services spaces. Creates training and programming suggestions for the new technologies for use by programmers system-wide.
- Working with the Queen’s Square, Youth Services Team Lead/School Liaison, act as primary contact with school principals, teachers and community group leaders in the branch catchment area to promote the library and use of its services and programs. Develop and conduct elementary and high school tours at the location and/or in the schools.

**What You’ll Need to Succeed**

To be qualified for and successful in the role, you should have:

- Two (2) years post-secondary diploma and/or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
- Preferred - Early Childhood Education diploma or Recreation and Leisure diploma
- Required - Prior related public library experience: 2 Years
- Required - Experience working with children in a work environment - 2 years
- Required - Previous experience working with the public in a service environment - 2 years
- Preferred - Experience with program facilitation
- Demonstrated creative abilities in the arts
- Ability to research and implement new technology
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to plan and execute programming for youth
- Demonstrated creative abilities
- An inclusive and empathetic approach and a service-oriented mindset
- A passion for supporting the diverse interests and needs of the Cambridge community
- Familiar with current trends and technologies for children and teens
- The ability to connect with people of all ages and offer hands-on assistance

**Pay**: Starting rate is $61,067 per year

**Hours**: 70 hours bi-weekly

**Schedule**: Days, one evening per week, and alternate Saturday shifts
