**Maintenance Worker - Parks***:
**Temporary Position February through September 2023**

We are seeking an individual to be involved in the maintenance, repair and upkeep of our parks and playing fields, landscaped grounds and playground areas to ensure operational safety and enjoyment for all who use these areas.

Reporting to and supporting the Manager of Parks, this position will be primarily responsible for performing horticulturally related tasks which may include planting, pruning, weeding, watering, fertilizing, cultivating, mowing and trimming lawns and general duties as required. Other responsibility will include inspecting, maintaining and installing playground equipment, checking and repairing sprinkler systems in public spaces, inspecting and maintaining trails, fields, and other recreational facilities. They may also oversee the work of junior parks staff. Applicants must possess the physical stamina to work outdoors in all weather, have excellent interpersonal skills, sound administrative skills, and embrace our vision of maintaining and enhancing Pitt Meadows’ natural beauty.

Sound related experience, preferably in a municipal or government agency parks setting, is preferred. An unrestricted Class 3 Driver’s License with Air Endorsement would be considered an asset.

This is a full time CUPE positions with a salary of **$32.14 per hour plus 12% in lieu of benefits**

The hours of work for these positions will be mainly scheduled between Monday and Friday, but may require some flexibility to accommodate varying workplace situations.
