**Environmental Health & Knowledge Translation Scientist**

**What you’ll do**
- Conduct literature reviews and synthesizing complex environmental health research findings pertaining to environmental public health areas including but not limited to food safety, personal services establishments, drinking water and recreational water facilities, environmental contaminants and hazards, climate change, emergency preparedness response and environmental health considerations in recovery phase, linkages to and within the built environment (e.g., neighbourhood design, transportation networks, natural environments, food systems, and housing).
- Create knowledge translation resources for practice and policy-making in environmental public health that can be tailored and contextualized to specific public health audiences. Resources represent a variety of formats including but not be limited to: evidence reviews, evidence briefs, blog articles, fact sheets, peer-reviewed journal articles, responses to external consultations and inquiries, webinar presentations, and other media formats (e.g., scripts for short animated videos).
- Mobilize NCCEH outputs through multiple channels - e.g., conferences, meetings, external webinars, guest lectures at academic institutions, social media channels (NCCEH; personal professional accounts).
- Build networks and collaborations to augment capacity building for public health systems.
- Contribute to ongoing continuous improvement efforts. Activities include: needs assessment surveys, key informant interviews, internal and external evaluations, work progress tracking of output and other metrics; year-end reporting as required by the Public Health Agency of Canada (funder).

**What you bring**

**Qualifications**:

- A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to Master of Science in a discipline related to Environmental Health plus five (5) years’ of recent, related experience.

You will also have
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, including the ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Demonstrated ability to interact professionally with internal and multiple stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work, multi-task, work under time pressures to meet deadlines and handle interruptions and changing priorities.
- Demonstrated superior level of accuracy, initiative, attention to detail, and independent error checking.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate and research information on-line (internet and intranet).
- French language skills are an asset
- Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
- Knowledge of social, economic, political and historical realities impacting indigenous communities and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism and accompanying reports (BC DRIPA, TRC, etc.).
