Fitter Apprentice

As a Fitter Apprentice, your role is critical to the reputation that Ebco has built for delivering world-class quality manufacturing. You will be learning about & working on fitting and fabricating to meet customer specifications.

**QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE**:
Must-Haves:

- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Actively pursuing a Fitter / Fabricator Trade Certification
- Ability to learn to understand and interpret drawing tolerances and specifications

Assets:

- Ability to learn how to work with operating manual or semi-automatic flame cutting equipment, and shears
- Ability and interest in learning how to operate rolls & brake-presses, and a CNC burning machine

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

Working alongside a Fabricator to accomplish the following:

- Interpreting drawings, welding processes and welding specifications
- Operating manual and semi-automatic welding equipment
- Welding to customer specifications with supervision
- Operating welding equipment, oxy-fuel cutting, grinding
- Heat straightening
- Operating and handling overhead cranes and lifting equipment
- Working with Carbon and Stainless Steels and Aluminum

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES**
- Ability to learn welding procedures and quality control requirements
- Willingness to learn how to read, understand and interpret welding process specifications, welding symbols and blueprints
- Strong critical thinking skills
- Organizational and time management skills
- Flexibility with shifts; dependent on workflow and projects
- Excellent interpersonal relations
- Initiative and resourcefulness
- Ability to stand, bend and walk for extended periods as well as lift up to 40-50 lb
