**Full Job Description**

**Job Location**: Thorold, Ontario, Canada

**Working Hours**: Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 5:30

**General Duties**
- Purchase general and specialized equipment and materials, As specify by the managers, directors, and president
- Assess requirements of Norgen and develop specifications for equipment, materials and supplies to be purchased
- Negotiate specs and prices and get and review quotations
- Determine or negotiate contract terms and conditions, award supplier contracts or recommend contract awards
- Establish logistics of delivery schedules, monitor progress and contact clients and suppliers to resolve problems
- Purchase of particular materials or business services such as furniture or office equipment.
- Work with shipping and receiving department
- Work with Regulatory department to determine critical suppliers and non-critical suppliers.
- Identify and evaluate back-ups for all critical suppliers to ensure steady flow of critical raw materials.
- Clearly communicate Estimated Delivery Times with the purchase requester.
- Contact customers who have past due balances and negotiate payment arrangements
- Identify and resolve any issues preventing customers from paying their debts
- Maintain accurate records of all customer interactions and payment arrangements
- Monitor accounts to ensure payments are made in a timely manner
- Work collaboratively with other departments to resolve any billing or payment disputes
- Provide regular updates to management on the status of outstanding debts

**Qualifications**
- A bachelor's degree or college diploma in business administration, commerce or economics is preferred but not required.
- A certificate in purchasing from the Purchasing Management Association of Canada (PMAC) is an asset
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a purchasing clerk, collections, or as an administrative clerk is required
- Certification from the International Right of Way Association (IRWA) is an asset

- Develop specifications for equipment, materials and supplies to be purchased
- Assess requirements of establishment
