Mikisew Group is hiring a full time **Procurement Manager** to join our team and play a key role in managing the procurement process to support our operations and growth.
**What the role looks like**:
As the Procurement Manager for Mikisew Group of Companies, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing all aspects of procurement within our organization. You will play a critical role in creating strategy on how we acquire timely and cost-effective materials, equipment, and services necessary for the maintenance and operation of Mikisew Group. Your ability to develop and maintain strong supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and implement efficient procurement strategies will be essential to our success.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Strategic Procurement Planning**: Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with company goals and objectives, taking into consideration market trends, cost-saving opportunities, and risk management.
- **Supplier Management**: Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with suppliers and vendors. Negotiate contracts and terms, and monitor supplier performance to ensure quality, cost, and delivery targets are met.
- **Cost Control**: Implement cost control measures to optimize procurement processes and reduce overall procurement costs while maintaining quality standards.
- **Inventory Management**: Oversee inventory levels and stock replenishment to ensure uninterrupted operations. Minimize excess inventory and associated carrying costs.
- **Compliance**: Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards in all procurement activities.
- **Quality Assurance**: Collaborate with relevant departments to ensure that procured materials and services meet quality and safety standards.
- **Budget Management**: Develop and manage the procurement budget, tracking expenditures and reporting on variances.
- **Market Research**: Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and emerging technologies to make informed procurement decisions.
- **Team Leadership**: Lead and develop a team of procurement professionals, providing guidance, training, and support to maximize their performance.
**What you bring**:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, or a related field.
- Ten years’ experience as a procurement manager in the oil and gas industry or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of contracts and contract management.
- Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, supplier management, and contract negotiation.
- Strong knowledge in inventory management and warehousing.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and standards.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proficiency in SAP.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Leadership and team management experience.
