**Job Summary & Responsibilities**:
Medevac Captains must be flexible, accurate, reliable, organized, and able to take initiative. They must possess good judgement, values, and ethics. Medevac Captains fly the SW4 Metroliner fixed wing aircraft. They are responsible for all aspects of aircraft operations and have final authority over the safe operation of the aircraft they command and are responsible for the safety of all persons onboard.
Medevac Captains conduct pre-flight inspection of aircraft and check passenger and cargo distribution to ensure that weight and balance specifications are met. They co-ordinate flight activities with ground crews and air-traffic control, inform crew members of flight and test procedures and direct activities of aircraft crew during flights, contact control towers for takeoff clearances arrival instructions and other information, and maintain communications with flight dispatchers and weather forecasters and respond to and report in-flight emergencies and malfunctions They perform post-flight inspections, record equipment malfunctions and corrective actions taken during flight and report required repairs to ground maintenance personnel
**Qualifications**:
- Valid driver's license
- Multi-instrument Flight Rating
- Restricted Radiotelephone Operator License
- Commercial Pilot License - fixed wing
- Valid Canadian Aviation Medical
- Valid Canadian passport and/or ability to work in Canada and travel to the USA
- At least 2 years of experience and 2000 total time hours
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Excellent oral and written communication (English language proficiency required)
- Must be willing to complete criminal record check
